About the event

Gain a different perspective of the Dee with a special two-hour river journey. Cruising from Chester to the Aldford Iron Bridge, live commentary from experts Peter Powell (Welsh Dee Trust CEO) and Tim Ackerley (Formerly of Chester Waterworks/Dee Valley Water) will guide you through the history and nature of the river. Explore its modifications to serve the citizens of Chester over the centuries, its role as a source of drinking water for millions and learn how wide-ranging sources of pollution are causing its decline. Of course, the wonderful wildlife and habitat that make the river special will also be revealed.
Half of each ticket sold will go the Welsh Dee Trust's 'It Shouldn't Be in the Dee' programme, tackling pollution and litter in the River Dee. Tickets include Adult £16.75, Senior £15.75. Full details and booking here.
There is a fully stocked bar onboard, in case you would like to enjoy a hot or cold drink as you make your way upstream. You are more than welcome to bring a picnic with you to eat onboard.
Accessibility: Partially accessible: Rear deck is wheelchair-accessible, but there are steps to upper and lower decks. Toilets are located on the rear with step-free access, but nearest wheelchair-accessible toilets can be found in The Groves near moorings.
