About the event

It is easy to take Chester’s City Walls for granted as a simple, if rambling, monument. This walk along and beside the Walls from the Roman Gardens to St Martin’s Way will explore the surviving sections of Roman origin and show how they have fallen down, been rebuilt, modified and restored over almost 2000 years. Your guide will be Peter Carrington of the Chester Archaeological Society.

The walk includes many steps and will take between 1.5 and 2 hours, depending on pace and questions asked!

Booking for this free event opens at the end of May.
