River Dee Nature Walk

Join the Welsh Dee Trust on a guided walk along the River Dee learning about river habitats, wildlife and some of the problems facing the river.

About the event

Expect to walk about 2 miles, but at a slow pace with frequent stops to learn more about the wildlife found from your Welsh Dee Trust Guide. This family friendly event is free, but booking is required.

The walk starts and finishes at the main entrance to Edgar’s Field Park and will take around 90 minutes. It is suitable for participants with pushchairs and wheelchairs. Those with specific mobility concerns are asked to contact the Chester Visitor Information Centre, 01244 405340, before booking to ensure that you can be accommodated.

Please note that there are no public toilet facilities along the walking route. Public toilet facilities can be found across the river at The Groves (CH1 1SD) or in the Little Roodee car park (CH1 1SL), where a number of wheelchair accessible parking spaces are also located.

There will be road closures in place including the Old Dee Bridge and Handbridge on the day, due to Handbridge Festival. Please allow extra time to find a suitable carpark and to walk to the meeting place.
