Dean Bennett: Cathedral Library Exhibition

The Very Revd Frank S.M. Bennett, Dean of Chester 1920-1937, was the subject of 2020 cathedral library exhibition to mark the 100th Anniversary of his installation as Dean of Chester in 1920.  Visitors to the exhibition during Festival 2021 were treated to a fascinating talk from Professor George Brooke, Library Consultant, about Dean Bennett.

Have you ever considered why there is no charge to visit Chester Cathedral or why the Cathedral plays such an important part in Chester life?  These are part of Dean Bennett’s remarkable contribution to the Cathedral and City, as is the glazing of the cloisters.
