About the event

Archaeologists from the Grosvenor Museum, in partnership with the University of Chester, ran their annual training excavation for archaeology students in Grosvenor Park during May.  On 22 June the archaeologists will be outside the pavilion with some of the finds from the dig and will be an opportunity to take a virtual walk over of the excavation.  (This event is now not taking place on 21 & 23 June.)

Drop in on 22 June to see the finds and to take a virtual look at the excavation.

Previous digs have discovered a Roman Road, ditches from the Saxon and Medieval periods and a large building destroyed in the Civil War, with countless finds to tell stories of Chester’s Past. Learn more about the finds from 2021 here.
