About the event

Chester is an important railway junction, second only to Crewe in Cheshire. A gateway to the North wales coast with routes to Merseyside from the south crossing. In the 1880s railways were the major employers in town with busy locomotive depots, carriage and wagon works servicing the two stations. The talk will look at how all this came about.

Tickets are free but do need to be booked in advance.  The Grosvenor Museum Lecture Theatre is on the ground floor and accessible by lift at the entrance. There is a lift up to the toilets.

Lecture approximately one hour. Doors open at 3.30pm
