Join us on Sunday 28th July for the first ever Chester Heritage Festival Summer Celebration in partnership with Picturehouse Chester.

We'll be down on Exchange Square and inside Picturehouse Chester from 11am until 6pm with a variety of FREE activities for all the family, including:

  • Climb aboard the Artbus Chester and let your creativity flow with a variety of crafty activities while watching our spectacular bubbleologist performing outside on Exchange Square

  • Meet our Medieval Surgeon or discover artifacts from the history of our city with the lead curator from Grosvenor Museum

  • Meet our Festival artist, Julie Littler as she creates some of her colourful works of art right before your eyes!

  • Make a clay medieval tile to take home - no experience or kiln firing needed!

  • Enjoy a meet and greet with puppets and giants from the legendary Midsummer Watch Parade

  • Join stained glass conservators, Recclesia, to paint your own ‘stained glass’ designs

  • Learn how to protect, conserve, promote and enhance the River Dee and all its indigenous species of fish, animals, birds, and plants with The Welsh Dee Trust

  • Take in a Chester Heritage Festival exclusive film - booking link coming soon

  • Pack 2000 years of Chester history into 45 minutes with a family-friendly walking tour. Expect some Horrible Histories – style tales from costumed guides as we explore Chester with some fun challenges along the way! - booking link coming soon

This is a brand new event with some of our Chester Heritage Festival favourite activities teamed with a whole host of new experiences!
